Hot Springs Village, AR – Gordon Haley Shaw died on Sunday Dec. 29, 2024. He was born on October 31, 1935 in Memphis, Tenn. to the late Gordon Haley Shaw, Sr. and Charlotte Louise Shaw.
Gordon graduated from East High School in Memphis in 1954 and attended Memphis State University (now University of Memphis). After college he spent two years in the U.S. Army serving in Germany. He then went to work for Swift and Co. and then spent 30 years in marketing with General Motors, Chevrolet Motor Division. He lived in Memphis, Blytheville, AR and North Little Rock, AR. while working for Chevrolet and had many Chevrolet dealer friends.
He and his wife enjoyed many Chevrolet sponsored trips out of the country with dealers. He met his wife, Sylvia Watts, at East High School and they married in 1958. They have one daughter, Stephanie Louise Zimmerman (husband Jerry) and granddaughter, Merci Olivia Zimmerman and one son, Dr. Robert Haley Shaw (wife Carol) and three grandchildren, Austin Haley Shaw (wife Cora), Allison Nicole Shaw, and Caleb Joseph Shaw.
Gordon belonged to the Christian faith and brought his children up in this faith. He was a good man and a good role model to his children and grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Village Bible Church in Hot Springs Village. Donations in his memory may be given to St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, Village Bible Church or to the charity of your choice.
