Gordon Steffey Obituary
Gordon E. Steffey 89 of Kalamazoo passed away Sunday July 30, 2023 at home. Gordon was born September 7, 1933 in Kalamazoo the son of Calvin and Jesse (Usborne) Steffey. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University; while he was at Michigan State he was active in the ROTC program and received his commission in the Army where he served as an officer during the Korean War. Gordon enjoyed fishing and bird hunting. On December 5, 1958 in Kalamazoo Gordon was united in marriage to the former Sandra Kay Young who preceded him in death on April 14, 2022. Also preceding him in death was a grandson Tyler. Surviving are two sons, Mike (Deanna) Steffey, Scott Steffey; daughter, Laura Steffey; sister, Joan (Mark) Behrens; four grandchildren, Jessica, Gina, James, Katie; great-granddaughter, Onna; two nephews. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Parchment Redmond Funeral Home. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
