A native of Trammel, VA he was born September 10, 1953 the son of the late Bruce Steffey and Iona Dickenson Steffey. He worked as an autobody mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Ellen Joice Quigley Steffey; and second wife: Stacie Cantley Steffey; and his son: Daniel Lee Steffey; and his brother: Bruce Steffey, Jr.
Survivors include his son: Jerry (Suzanne) Steffey of Madisonville, KY; and his brothers: Robert Darrell (Georgia) Steffey of Aurora, IL and Samuel (JoAnne) Steffey of St. Paul, VA; and his sisters: Roxie Anne (Randy) Jenkins of Castlewood, VA and Charlotte Darlene Steffey also of Castlewood, VA; and his grandchildren: Amber Lynn Steffey, Heather Marie Steffey, Damian Lee Steffey and Nathian Scott Steffey; and his great grandchild: Eloise Jean Henderson; and his sister-in-law: Sandra Mullins Steffey.
