Joy Janice Bennett

Joy Janice Bennett, age 91, of Buckhannon, died on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born on November 2, 1934, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Stanley Martin and Leona Rebecca Bennett Miller.

She was united in marriage on July 30, 1952, to Roy Junior Bennett, who preceded her in death on August 27, 2024. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers: Willard and Stanford Miller and one sister, Vivian Harvey.

She is survived by four sons: Bruce Bennett and wife Jackie of Buckhannon, Cort Bennett and wife June of Raleigh, NC, Adam Bennett and wife Debbie of Graford, TX and Tate Bennett and wife Gia of Madisonville, KY; three daughters: Susan and husband Pete Miller, Cathy Ingram, and Robin and husband Lenny Lewis all of Buckhannon; sixteen grandchildren: Jeremy Bennett, Samantha Leput, Ashley Walters, Cort John Bennett, Berkeley Bennett, Grayson Bennett, Spencer Bennett, Taylor Bennett, Slater Bennett, Stephanie Jack, Barry Miller, Heather Ward, Vanessa Perkins, Shannon Lewis, Amy Powell, and Rebekah Peters; sixteen great grandchildren: Lance, Walker, Haley, Paisley, Nicole, Adalyn, Sage, Sophia, Olivia, Nicholas, Gage, Hunter, Adalyn, Summer, Levi, and Lynelle; two great great granddaughters: Sadie and Josie.

Joy was a member of the Heaston United Methodist Church at Hodgesville.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM, the funeral hour with Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Heavner Cemetery.
