A native and resident of New Iberia, Gordy Patrick Bourque was born on August 19, 1957, to the late Raul and Louise Romero Bourque. His journey through life was one filled with passion, warmth, and love for the simple pleasure in life.
A dedicated worker, Gordy spent many years at Berard Oilfield, where his commitment to his job was evident. Gordy enjoyed many activities. He loved to cook, delighting friends and family with delicious meals that created lasting memories around the dinner table. Gordy had a particular affinity for the thrill of horse races. Gordy could also be found playing in his favorite card games, Bourrée' and Cadillac, often accompanied by laughter and spirited competition among friends. Music was another vital component of Gordy’s life, with country songs providing the soundtrack to many of his cherished moments.
