It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Grace Nizzardo Duguid. She passed away peacefully with her daughters that she called "Her Girls" Debra and Lara by her side on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Stamford Hospital.
Grace was born in Stamford, Connecticut on November 17, 1943. The daughter of the late Mariano and Antonetta (Buzzeo) Nizzardo. She graduated from Stamford High School.
Grace is survived by her daughters Debra Marie Duguid (and her partner Alan Mendelson) and Lara Ann Duguid (and her partner Andrew Shay), her sister Michelina Perrone (Stanley) and brother Mario Nizzardo (Sue).
She predeceased by her husband David Duguid, her sister Linda Fedorysyzn, her brother-in-law Charles Fedorysyzn, and her nephew Matthew Fedorysyzn.
Grace was known for her love of her family. Grace was a caregiver to many from a young age. She helped in taking care of her younger cousins and nieces, and nephews. In her later years, "Gwacie" was an important part of her beloved Dylan's life. "Gwacie" and Dylan were quite the pair and shared a unique bond. He was the apple of her eye, and she loved him dearly.
Grace, Gracie, Grapes was a presence and loved by many. We will miss her dearly but are grateful for the time that we had to spend with her. Her love will live on in our hearts and in everyone that she touched. Her memories will forever be a blessing.
The Family would like to thank all those involved her in care over the past year. Without the love, care, and compassion that you all provided we would not have had as much time with her as we did.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Burial to immediately follow at St. John's Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT.
