Gloria Morgan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Graves Medley Funeral Services from Feb. 13 to Feb. 16, 2026.
Gloria Morgan of Stamford Ct entered into rest February 9th, 2026.

Gloria was born August 21th 1957 in Stamford, Ct to the late James Lane and Nettie Morgan. she was employed at Chart Wells for 32 years.

Gloria graduated from Stamford High School 1976.

In 2014 a few Parkside Gables residents went to Hartford to meet with board members of the Department of Housing to state their concerns regarding their housing community called Parkside Gables. Those people who attended that session started a movement to gain respect and consideration for the residents living in these homes.

After this meeting, the Parkside Gables Resident Board and Resident Council were created with the assistance and under the direction of consultant and Executive Director of Tovah, Kim Pietrorazio and attorney Ronald Barba of Bender, Anderson and Barba, P.C., to ensure that the DOH and CHFA would provide the required property oversight, and agree to collaborate with the residents to guarantee that all governing documents were adhered to by both management and the owner.

Gloria, as the Resident Council president, and the Parkside Board scoured the housing regulations on Mutual housing and joined with all parties concerned to ensure that Parkside Gables would remain well-cared for and affordable housing on the Westside of Stamford.

With Gloria at its head, the Resident Council worked hand-in-hand with the Parkside Gables Resident Board and property management to keep an open line of communication; and worked in collaboration with the Resident Board and property management so see that all residents' needs were met and that the Resident Council would be able to participate in, as was determined to be their right, the management and oversight of the property.

When the residents would begin feel that their efforts were not enough, Gloria could always be counted on to remind us all that "God was in control" and that she "felt in her spirit" that we would win. And we did!

The Resident Board and Resident Council are deeply indebted to Gloria for her perseverance and leadership and more importantly her friendship. She will be deeply and sorely missed by us all.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memories and to carry her legacy. 3 sons Andre Morgan (LaTray) of Egypt, Dwayne Morgan, Timothy Morgan of Stamford, Ct. 3 sisters Sheila Morgan, Cathy Whitfield of Bridgeport, Dorothea Powell of Lexington NC, 4 brothers Calvin Morgan of Bridgeport, Eddie Lane (Lynn) of Stamford, Eric Lane (Pam) of Trumbull, Ct, Loren Lane of Stamford, 18 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, Bonus sons, Matthew Thompson, and Johnson (JP) Paulemon.

and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends Helen Lomax and Curtis Miller.

Gloria you left in the Morning light.
We look around you left our sight.
As we ponder upon our bed at night
You took your rest smiled and said I Am Alright.
I Love You FOREVER in my heart. Your little sister Sheila
