Howard McKinly Trusty, the son of the late Elijah Trusty and Sarah Alma Powell was born on March 3, 1948, in Brunswick County Virginia. Howard made his peaceful transition to his heavenly residence on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Civita Care Center in Stamford, CT at the age of 77.

Howard attended school and received his education in Lawrenceville,

Virginia during his earlier life. Howard made the decision to leave Virginia

and relocated to Norwalk Connecticut. After deciding to make

Connecticut his permanent residence he eventually, relocated to Stamford,

Connecticut, where he remained until his death.

Howard was affectionately known in Norwalk and Stamford as "Trusty the

Can Man." He enjoyed the simple things in life and spent time with his

friends at the park exchanging stories. Howard love and adored his family.

He had a special bond with his niece Allison and her children, finding joy

being around them.

Howard attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Norwalk, Connecticut, under

the leadership of Reverend William Davis. He would also periodically

attended Grace, Mercy and Peace Ministries, International under the

leadership of Pastor Alan B. Thorme, Sr. located in Norwalk, CT

Howard, in addition to his parents was predeceased by three brothers

Earl, Jerome, Leeroy Trusty, and his sister, Theresa Sanders. He leaves

to cherish his memory, his sister, Joyce Trusty of Norwalk, Connecticut,

and his brother, Harvey E. Trusty (Valerie) of Milford, Connecticut. His

uncle James Trusty of Philadelphia, PA. Nephews: James Trusty, Willie

Trusty, Mark Trusty, Anthony Trusty, and Emmanuel Young. Nieces: Laretha Trusty,

Chrisan Trusty, and Allison Trusty, who was like a daughter to him. He

also leaves a host of nieces, nephews (including great & great - great),

and a host of cousins and friends to mourn him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by a service of celebration at 11:00 am at Graves Medley Funeral Services, 31 Stillwater Ave, Stamford CT.

Interment will be private.
