Grace Marie Hulse passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Dunlop House Assisted Living & Memory Care community in Colonial Heights, Virginia. She was 93.
Grace was born on February 22, 1930, in Bethesda, MD to the late Robert Lee and Gladys Myrtle Phillips. She lived most of her life in the Twinbrook community of Rockville, MD. Her beloved husband of 33 years, Jack Emil Hulse, died in 1981. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Harry Lee Phillips in 2004 and Robert Norman Philips in 2003. Grace graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in 1947 after which she worked for a finance company until 1952 when she resigned to become a mother. She was active in PTA work and enjoyed crafts such as making candles, aluminum trays, copper pictures, beaded flower arrangements, quilting, needle point and Christmas ornaments. A member of the Twinbrook Homemakers Club for over 25 years, she served in all offices of that organization. Grace, Jack and their three sons enjoyed many camping trips taken over the years.
Grace had three sons and is survived by Jeffrey Paul Hulse (wife Gayle) and Larry Eugene Hulse (wife Crystal). Her oldest son Craig Steven Hulse died in 2021 and is survived by his wife, Deborah.
Grace is also the beloved grandmother of Anneke, Justin, Nicole, Danielle, Kevin, Hillary, and Corvus. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Elvin, Cassandra, Sophie and Elodie.
