Grace E Jacobs, age 90, passed away peacefully in Kennewick, Washington while in hospice care on July 18, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born in North Platte, Nebraska to Jim and Bernice Phinney. The family moved to Walla Walla in 1938. Jim began the Phinney Hatchery on the west end of town. Grace attended College Place public schools, graduating from Walla Walla High School in 1953. She married Marland (Marley) Jacobs on September 4, 1953. They honeymooned at Mount Rainier. Marley and Grace both dedicated their lives to working at the Phinney Hatchery, while raising 4 children. They also belonged to the Elks club for many years. She enjoyed the RV trips they used to take, and they eventually started taking 3-week long vacations in September, most of the time, going up and down the Washington and Oregon Coasts. Wallowa Lake was one of her favorite places to go camping. She was an avid Mariners fan and enjoyed watching them play each season. Marley finally passed in 2011, after 57 years of marriage to Grace.

Grace is preceded in death by David Jacobs (son), Marley Jacobs (husband) and Frank Phinney, (brother). She is survived by sister Shirley Fulton of Spanaway, WA; daughter, Rebecca Stull of Redlands, CA, daughter, Kathryn Peters of College Place, WA, and daughter, Connie McElrath (Walt) of Kennewick, WA. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Brandy Stull (Hong Kong, China), Dana Martin (Steve) of Yucaipa, California, Kimberly Brown, (Walla Walla), Brianne Peters (Edwin Flores) of Pullman, WA, Ryan Conner (Rachel), of Walla Walla, WA, Amanda Garvin (Andrew) of Kennewick, WA and 6 great grandchildren.
