Grace Lorene York was born September 21, 1932 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma to Earl "Poss" Manwarring and Stella Samantha (Beets) Manwarring. She passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at her home in Okfuskee at the age of 89.
On July 22, 1950 in Okfuskee, Oklahoma; she and Jack York were married. They resided in Kermit, Texas for 35 years where Grace served as Justice of the Peace. She also worked in the medical records department in both Kermit and Monahans, Texas. In September of 1993 she and Jack moved to Okfuskee County. Grace was a talented artist and enjoyed painting and nature. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. She was a special lady who will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles.
Survivors include her husband of more than 71 years, Jack York of the home; her two sons, Lew Afton York and wife Jackie of Okfuskee and Earl Wayne York and wife, Vivian of Larue, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Pastor Brandon Broadbent.
