Gracie E. Greer-Hunt passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 in Waco, Texas surrounded by loving family at the age of 90. She was born January 29, 1935, in Milan Tennessee to the union of Henry James Greer and Eliza Jane Whitmore.
Gracie received her education in Carroll County Public Schools. She was a member of New Hope M.B. Church where she served as an usher and choir member. While living in Nashville she was a Watch-Member under the Watch of Prophetess Reverend Venerria B. Smith at New Cedar Grove M.B. Church.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Greer and Eliza Whitmore, son Leonard (Rose) Douglas and her daughter Wanda (Walter) Jean Littleton.
Gracie was a beautiful soul, inside and out. She loved spending time with her family and friends, talking on her phone, and having a good time. She thoroughly enjoyed having a good yard sale with her friend Norma, whom she loved like a daughter. She loved getting in the car to "Run off a lil' piece". She also had an insatiable love for her ice cream and Pound Cake.
Those left to cherish her sweet memories are her son, McAuther (Linda) Douglas, step-son, Grover Hunt, Jr. and two daughters: Darlene Strayhorn of Nashville, Tennessee and Denise Taylor of Trezevant Tennessee, two brothers, Billy Greer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Jerry Greer of Atwood Tennessee, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
