Gracie Smith Obituary
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 2:30 PM in Wilkerson Funeral Chapel-Vanceboro. A service of committal will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 PM at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William "Bill" Toler; parents, Harmon & Nellie Fillingame; five brothers, Oscar "Buddy", Roy, Linwood, George, & Raymond; and two sisters, Lottie and Amanda.
Gracie leaves behind her devoted husband, Lester Smith; two sons, Shelton Toler (Sherri), and Stevie Toler (Angie); grandchildren, Nathan Toler (Crystal), Jessica Garris (Trey), Megan Morgan (Tyler); and great-grandchildren, Adilynn Toler, Brinleigh Toler, Weston Garris, Evan Morgan, and Owen Morgan.
The family would like to thank the caregivers that assisted with Gracie's care at home, especially Ms. Clara Green and Gentiva Hospice, who provided extraordinary end of life care to her. Words cannot express how deeply grateful the family is to have these resources available.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation Carolinas Chapter, www.parkinson.org-carolinas, or www.carolinasparkinson.org
