Donna Spain Obituary
The funeral will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 1:30 PM, in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, February 26, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Donna was born in Germany into a military family and lived in several places throughout her childhood. Donna attended East Carolina University where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and met her husband, Jeffrey. She loved teaching, and taught school for 21 years in Pitt, Lenoir, and Martin Counties. Donna attended church regularly until her health declined.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Voissem, Sr. and Geraldine Voissem.
She is survived by her: Husband of 27 years, Jeffrey Spain; Sons, Jacob and Andrew Spain; Sister, Nancy Fletcher and husband, Bobby Joe; Brother, Robert Voissem, Jr.; and Sister-in-law, Charlene Corbett.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice, and special caregiver Tally Etheridge, for their love and care.
