Grace Ann Yoakum, age 77, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023. Born on February 7, 1946, Gracie was the daughter of the late Albert and Gertie (Drummond) Miracle. In 1960, she married her beloved husband, Fred Yoakum. Fred saw Gracie for the first time as she was sitting on her front porch and "that was it." They spent the next 63 years together building a life and watching their family grow. Gracie worked in housekeeping at Parkview Randallia for 39 years until her retirement. She attended Harvester Missionary Church faithfully until her health declined. When not working, Gracie enjoyed treasure hunting at all the local thrift stores. She loved buying clothes but also enjoyed buying items for others, as she had a generous and giving spirit. Above all, family was most important to her, and she loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Gracie's beautiful smile, that always lifted the spirits of others, will be dearly missed by family and friends alike. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Fred Yoakum; daughter, Lois (Bud) Wesner; grandchildren, Jacob (Ariel) Wesner, Josh (Ashlie) Wesner, and Vanessa (Tara) Wesner; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Marissa, and Katelyn Wesner, and Zoee Aker; brother, Glen (Audrey) Miracle; and several nieces and nephews. Gracie was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Brandon (Tequila) Wesner. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com for the family.
