Grady Cain Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home - Hagerstown on Jan. 20, 2026.
Grady Romero Cain was born to the late Ruth and Irby Cain on September 11, 1957, in Washington D.C. He peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Grady was educated in the District of Columbia Public School System and was a graduate of Eastern High School. Through perseverance, growth, and determination, he committed himself to becoming a better man and provider. His dedication led to a successful career spanning 16 years of employment in Montgomery County.

In 2019, Grady relocated to Hagerstown, Maryland. In 2020, he began a renewed spiritual journey, rededicating his life and focusing on his God-given purpose: mentoring and helping men who faced hardships similar to his own. He united with New Life World Ministries, where he became an active member, a servant leader, and a pillar within the community.

Grady's heart for service allowed him to connect with impactful organizations such as Gate Keepers, Habitat for Humanity, and Goodwill- organizations devoted to helping individuals become the best versions of themselves. Through his selfless acts, Grady earned the respect, trust, and love of many. His presence brought hope, joy, and reassurance to countless lives, reminding others that there is always more to life and a great good to pursue. Grady lived by the belief: "Don't let your bad choices and decisions in life determine your future."

Grady leaves to cherish his precious memories his two loving daughters, Ameshia Williams and Leekea Byrd; two sons, Carlos Byrd and Andre' Reid; ten grandchildren, Jareall Williams, Delvon Williams, Emmanuel Williams, Taveren Williams, Daniel Williams, Carlise Byrd, Ashlee Jackson, Aria Reid, A'Dri Reid, and A'siah Reid; four great-grandchildren, Janiyah Williams, Jael Williams, Karoline Williams, and Kaido Williams; two brothers, Clark Cain and Terry Cain; aunt and uncle, Doris Douglas and Stacey Smith; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and dear friends.
