Graham David Heustis passed away suddenly on May 19, 2023, at the age of 31, following an unexpected illness. He was surrounded by his beloved family and dearest friends.
Graham was born June 11, 1991, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Susan Heustis and Keith Heustis. He was blessed with the friendship of two brothers, Bennett and Matthew Heustis. Graham had the benefit of having two additional loving parents, Buddy Dumeyer and Renee Heustis. He is survived by his parents, step-parents, grandparents Elizabeth (Libby) Johnson, Roland and Kathleen Valdes, sister-in-law, Kate Heustis, nephew, John Henry Heustis and step-siblings, Sarah Krock (Joe), Matthew Dumeyer and niece, Izzy Krock, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by Dr. William Johnson, Joy Baron, John Heustis, Ann Johnson, and Roland (Landy) Valdes. Gunnar and Shine were Graham's cherished German Shepherds, whom he loved dearly.
Graham was devoted to the countless friendships he developed over the years, especially at Trinity High School and the University of Louisville, where he served as pledge educator for Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He was an avid outdoorsman and treasured his affiliation with the CCBTA. Graham was a loyal, big-hearted, and fiercely loving person who lived life to the fullest in every way. Anyone who met Graham remembers how he filled the room with laughter and stories. Graham may have lived a short life, but he accomplished more in 31 years than most do in a lifetime.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, at Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 25, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 508 Breckenridge Lane at 10:00 a.m., with a burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and charitable donations, Graham would ask that you simply make a habit of telling those around you that you love them, and thoughtfully doing unexpected acts of kindness for anyone in need.
