Grant Combs of Poetry, Texas was born to Marc and Lana Combs January 13, 1995 in Dallas and got his wings on January 31, 2025 after a tragic automobile accident only a few miles from his home.
Grant attended Faith Temple Baptist Church in Poetry, Texas.
Grant graduated from Rockwall Heath High School where he participated in football and track. He went on to attend Texas State University. Grant had recently decided to pursue a career in cyber security at Collin College. As a student, he worked part time and enjoyed his hobbies very much. Gifted at graphic design, he experienced the handiwork of God outside and enjoyed gardening. His second love, music, occupied moments of solitude and enjoyment. Grant was a bright young man and had a very technical mind, all the while being extremely creative as well. Because of his love for music, he had been teaching himself to play the guitar and the piano. He had the wonderful ability to make people laugh and had a contagious smile and baby blue eyes that could brighten any room.
Those close to him knew of his sweet, kind and caring heart. His biggest love of all was his family. Gathering for holidays and celebrations were his most favored times. His new found love was his 2 year old nephew, Elias. Grant's silly antics could make everyone around him laugh, especially Elias.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald W. Foster, Jack Edwards and Mary Ann Edwards.
He is survived by his parents Marc and Lana Combs of Poetry Tx, his brother Garrett Combs of Richardson Tx, sister Grayson Combs, grandmother Leaann Foster, and nephew Elias of Poetry, Tx. Aunts and Uncles, Valerie and Bud Kuykendall, Ginnie Combs and Suz Mycoskie, Lynnette Magnusen, and Lorra and Harold Wick, and cousins Maegan and Brent Bearden, Mallorie and Jason Copeland, Matt and Jamie Kuykendall, Jordyn and Charles Bass, Joshua Ragsdale and Harrison Wick.
Grant had recently begun to spend much of his time reading and studying God's Word. He had a true desire to deepen his faith and understanding of God's Love. He was very eager and curious to learn more about the Bible and grow his relationship with the Lord. There is no doubt Grant was beaming with joy last week as Jesus welcomed him home. We will miss his wonderfulness here on earth and look forward to the day we are with him again.
Grant's celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Faith Temple Baptist Church 11214 FM 1565 Terrell, TX 75160.
