After battling many medical issues and months of extended hospital stays, Grant never gave up but ultimately his body did.  Grant passed away on Monday Aug 21 while his favorite Little League World Series played on the TV.  Grant leaves behind his wife LouAnna, 3 daughters Katie (AJ) Kellie and Kacie (Chad) and 4 grandchildren Hunter Carson Christopher and Blayden. He was blessed to be able to find and reunite with his sister Beth who was placed for adoption at birth. They maintained their loving relationship thru daily phone calls.  If you knew Grant, you knew he was LOUD, obnoxious, a know it all especially when it came to sports, he loved to make you laugh with crude jokes and by making up dumb songs. He like to brag on his own cooking and monopolize the conversation.  Grants greatest joy came from coaching both girls and woman’s softball at both the Covington Recreation Dept and at Magnolia Park. He also played coed and men’s softball and made lots of friends & memories on the ball field.  At the request of Grant’s daughters, no services are planned. We choose to remember him in our own personal ways; at the beach, fishing, at the ball fields, football and LSU! If you knew him we hope you can remember him in your own way also.  We like to think that when Grant stepped thru the gates of heaven, he yelled; “GRANTS IN THE HOUSE” and anyone that knew him said “Oh Shoot!, that’s Grant, and would try to act like they didn’t see him!
