In loving memory of Grant Henderson Garner, a radiant spirit who graced our lives from December 27, 1991, until August 28, 2025. Grantster, as affectionately known by his family and friends, was more than just a name; he was the epitome of kindness, a beacon of light who brightened the lives of everyone he touched. Born in the town of Greenville, Mississippi, he was cherished as his mother’s baby, her sunshine on even the cloudiest of days, a sentiment that echoed through the hearts of those who knew him well.
Through the years, Grant forged bonds that transcended the ordinary. To his father, David, he was not only a loving son but also a best friend; their shared moments of helping others are a testament to the compassionate soul Grant embodied. A born-again Christian, his faith was a guiding force in his life, nurturing his kind and loving nature that always compelled him to stop what he was doing to extend a helping hand to those in need.
Grant’s proudest accomplishments were his two beautiful children, Avery and Emma Garner, who filled his life with boundless joy and purpose. As a devoted father, he cherished every moment spent with them, teaching them the values of kindness and generosity that he held dear. Additionally, he shared a special bond with his brother, Tony Garner, who knew firsthand the depth of Grant's heart and the strength of their connection. He will also be missed by Ashley Phipps, Grant and Ashley shared a committed relationship.
In every step of his life—whether it was pursuing his hobbies of hunting, mechanics, or woodworking—Grant left an indelible mark of joy and dedication. Whether in the great outdoors or wrapped up in projects, he approached each endeavor with enthusiasm and passion, inspiring those around him to appreciate the beauty in the world.
At this time, we also remember and honor the beloved family members who have passed before him: his grandfathers, David Henderson and Earnest Garner, and his grandmother, Gwendolin Garner. Their presence in Grant's life was a source of wisdom and love that shaped the man he became.
Grant's journey tragically came to an end following a car accident, leaving an ache in the hearts of his parents, David and Cindy Garner, and his adoring grandmother, Betty Henderson. Along with a host of other family and friends, they now carry the memory of his unwavering spirit, his laughter, and his remarkable ability to uplift those in moments of need.
His life will be celebrated on August 30, 2025, beginning with a visitation at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, Mississippi, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM until noon. Grant will then be laid to rest in a burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Though the world feels dimmer without Grant, his legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support will forever resonate within the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. In every act of kindness, in every moment shared with family and friends, Grant's spirit will continue to shine. Rest in peace, dear Grant.
