Grant Alan Schneider, (73), of Armonk, New York passed away on January 25th surrounded by his loving family. Born to George and Marie Schneider on July 21st, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Grant was a graduate of Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, PA, class of 1967, and Rider University (formerly College), class of 1971. As a Human Resources Executive, he spent over 20 years at Brunschwig & Fils before becoming a leadership and business coach and starting his own company, Performance Development Strategies. In this role, he worked directly with senior leadership of organizations, small business owners, and family business owners. In recent years, he became an adjunct professor at Fordham University, teaching a SHRM certification prep course for HR professionals. Outside of the workplace, he was a leader in organizations including Business Network International, Westchester Human Resources Management Association, and the Westchester Business Council. Faith and religion were very important to Grant, as well. He was a longtime member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in White Plains, NY, serving several times on the church council including as President and Treasurer on multiple occasions. While work and volunteering was always a passion for him, he was most passionate about time with his family. He was always so proud to be a father of two girls and was overjoyed when he became a grandfather to two boys, whom he spent countless hours with. He spent the last several years splitting time between New York and Florida, and he was often out on a boat in Florida's Intracoastal Waterway with his wife Phyllis by his side. This had been a lifelong dream of his.
Grant is survived by his wife Phyllis, two daughters, Lindsay and Ashley (Tom), and grandchildren Maxwell and Teddy. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Peirce (Gary), and brother George, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 29th 12pm-4pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, White Plains, NY. Funeral services to take place Monday, January 30th 10am at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, White Plains, NY.
In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider making a donation in his memory to The Prostate Cancer Foundation.
