Mark Dementri, 63 of Jim Thorpe, passed away peacefully August 14, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest with his loving family by his side, after a brief battle with cancer.
He was the loving husband of Brenda M. (Smith) Dementri and they were married for 41 years.
Born October 19, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John J. and Elizabeth (McKeown) Dementri.
He was a 1980 graduate of Neshaminy High School.
Mark was employed by the Lehigh County Authority of Allentown as a water treatment operator. He was a 45-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 and Service Employees International Union Local 32 BJ.
He enjoyed spending time at Dom N Ali's Restaurant with his friends and watching the Eagles and Flyers.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons: Mark E. Dementri and Bryan M. Dementri both of Tamaqua. Siblings: Linda, wife of Mark Bowers of New Ringgold and Carol Dementri of Quakertown.
Also, surviving are his uncle William Dementri and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and his father-in-law Edward Smith of Tamaqua; brother-in-law, Edward Smith Jr. and his wife Missy of Summit Hill..
He was preceded in death by his daughter Jessica Dementri, sisters, Denise and Coleen, brother John and mother in law Donna Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday August 22, 2025 from 11-12:30 pm in the Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center Street, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:30pm.
Contributions can be made to the Carbon County Animal Shelter, 63 Broad St. Nesquehoning, PA 18240
