GRANT W. TICKNOR age 93, Grant W Ticknor, (Ike) age 93, long time resident of Kirtland, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2025.
Grant was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Maxine. Austinburg H.S. class of '49.
Grant is survived by his daughter Marilyn, son Vernon (Mary Jane) son David (Doris) and grandchildren, Blake, Jagger, Crissy, James, Gabe, Eli, Zeb, Jesse, John, and Matthew. Also, many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
As the youngest of 10 children, he was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wayne and Lily Maud Ticknor and all of his siblings. Also preceded in death by his son Stephen, grandchildren Abbey and Sabbeth and son-in-law Jim Faught and grandson Russ.
Grant was an Army Veteran and a 37-year technician and engineer for General Electric. He was a strong family man and enjoyed doing things with and for his family, his friends and those not yet friends. There are many who remember the many years Grant and Maxine taught Sunday school or helped with youth group events. They always enjoyed staying active and helping others.
Grant enjoyed travel with his family and later as a couple in retirement. He loved music and playing his harmonica. He was a self-taught wood worker and thrived being in the outdoors. He and Maxine were avid Square Dancers for many years. Learn something new every day became a frequently heard comment.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Grant Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 3-4 PM at Lakeshore Assembly of God Church, 8880 Lakeshore Blvd. Mentor on the Lake, Ohio 44060.
A memorial service will immediately follow at the church at 4PM.
A dinner will take place after the service.
