Greg Cameron Cliver, 77, of Nisswa, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025.
He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 8, 1947 to Stanley and Marceline (Blankenship) Cliver. He graduated from McCluer High School in Florissant, MO in 1965. Later he attended Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri, where he graduated in 1969. After college, Greg enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. After his time in the Air Force, he began his career in Sales and worked in the telecommunications industry for many years.
In his free time, Greg enjoyed golf, cheering on the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, and traveling - Italy and Maui were two of his favorite destinations. He spent countless weekends at the family cabin in Westcliffe, Colorado where he loved playing horseshoes, cooking steaks on the grill, going for hikes, and having a cold beer and a cigar while enjoying the view from the deck.
Greg’s family will always miss his quick wit, his love of 70’s classic rock, his ability to cook the perfect bratwurst on the grill. He loved to ski and was proud to have had all three of his daughters on skis by the time they were five. He was a voracious reader and always had an extensive book collection. He was a proud Air Force veteran who loved planes long after he stopped flying, often stopping in mid-conversation to point out a certain jet overhead.
Greg is survived by his daughters Kendra (Zack) Haddon, Kelsey (Travis) Skogstad, Karlie Cliver; and his grandchildren, Hagan, Kaia, Hudson and Holden. He is also survived by his brother, Keith Cliver and sister Marcia (Dan) Blakeman, nephew Matthew and niece Madison.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Stanley and Marceline, and his brother Noel Cliver.
Greg’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Hills Crossing Memory Care of Nisswa, Minnesota as well as the Moments Hospice for the care and support they provided to Greg.
A celebration of Greg’s life is being planned for a later date.
