Greg Alan Foust, 68, of Tomah, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. On January 30, 1955, Greg was born to Billy and Norma (Simmons) Foust on the Hamilton Air Force Base in California. In 1972, Greg joined the United States Marine Corps, and remained active duty for the next 3 years. During this time, he served 8 months in Vietnam, and was also awarded a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and a Rifle Marksmanship's Badge. Greg had a number of hobbies and was considered to be a "jack of all trades". You could often find him in his garden tending to his plants; reading books by his favorite author, Dean Kuntz; catching up on some painting; or listening to his "oldies", which usually consisted of Journey, the Eagles, or the Moody Blues. Greg also had a deep love for celebrating the Fourth of July and always counted down the days until he could get the family together and decorate for Christmas. Each year he looked forward to volunteering at the local firework show, and setting off some fireworks of his own with family and friends. During his final years, Greg enjoyed being a grandfather, and spending quality time with his family. Greg will be remembered for his amusing sense of humor, and of course, his famous beef stroganoff. He will be deeply missed by all that had the honor of knowing him.
Greg is survived by his daughter, Tiffany (Tyler) Foust; 4 sons, Zachary (Lauren) Foust, Michael (Sarah) Foust, Collin Foust, and Jerrod Foust; 4 grandchildren, Gunner, Lily, Scarlett, and Rylan; and many more family and friends.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Norma,1 brother, and 2 sisters.
Private services will be held at a later date. Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be sent to www.sonnenburgfamilyfh.com
