GREGORY SCOTT "GREG" McREE, age 60, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Dahl McDermitt, Jr. officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Eastman, GA.
Greg was born in Key West, FL on February 28, 1965, to Nancy Moye McRee and the late William Patrick "Bill" McRee. He was of the Baptist Faith, raised in Middleburg, FL, and was a 1983 graduate of Middleburg High School. He later attended Valdosta State University before graduating from St. John's River State College in Orange Park, FL in 1985. He moved to Buckhead, GA, where he worked for Georgia Pacific and later for Quick Loans in Buckhead before moving to Americas and subsequently in Eastman. He worked with Quick Loans from 1987 to 2011. In 2011, he purchased Eastern Finance, which he operated until 2017. From 2017 to 2024, he worked for the Dodge County Recreation Department, as a maintenance supervisor, while also working for Magnolia State Bank as a loan officer until retiring in 2024 due to his declining health. He loved golfing, fishing, coaching, hunting, grilling, sports in general, and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan. Greg was a dedicated father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle who loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his Daughter – Sydney McRee Fish (Justin) of Eastman, GA; Grandchildren – Kayden Fish and Emberleigh Fish, both of Eastman, GA; Mother – Nancy Virginia Moye McRee of Middleburg, FL; Sister – Pam McRee Bishop (Gerald) of Fleming Island, FL; Brother – Tim McRee (Julie) of Middleburg, FL; Nieces and Nephews – Matthew McRee (Emily), Maegan McRee, Garrett Bishop (Meagan), and Cody Bishop (Lindsay); Aunts and Uncles – Jean Phillips of Buckhead, GA and Debbie Van Dyke (Dan) of Buckhead, FL; Faithful Canine Companion – Kaia.
The family may be contacted at the McRee residence, 223 9th Avenue, Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Sunday, July 13.
