Greg Nettles, 66, of Philippi, formerly of Gassaway, WV, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at home.

He was born September 28, 1958, in Charleston, WV to the late Harlan Calvin and Wilma Jean Dobbins Nettles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia "Piddle" May, and brother-in-law, Freddie May.

Greg graduated from Braxton County High School in 1976. Throughout his career he served in many positions in the electrical utility industry. His most current position was with Compere Construction as the Vice President of Operations and Safety.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He thoroughly enjoyed following their lives and celebrating their academic and athletic achievements. He was a proud father and Pop Pop who believed his children and grandchildren could achieve anything. Greg loved deeply, worked hard and treasured each and every person that played a role in his life.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 40 years, Suzanne Nettles; children, Staci Falls and husband, Jason, of Staunton, Virginia and Matt Nettles of Gassaway; grandchildren, Blake Rodgers, Isaac Rodgers, Addison Falls, and Asher Falls, Madison Nettles, Sam Nettles, Jamie Nettles, Ava Nettles, Ella Nettles, and Kathryn Nettles; nephew, Chris May and wife, Misty, of Rock, WV.

In keeping with Greg's wishes he will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in his honor to the Fallen Lineman Foundation, P.O. Box 634, Cary, NC 27512 or fallenlinemanfoundation.com.
