It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregg Robert Kinson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, whose presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Gregg's life began with an adventurous spirit. In his younger years, he could be found tearing through the back roads of Parkman with his friends, riding motorcycles, wrecking cars, and living freely-wild and untamed. But everything changed when he met the love of his life, Shirley. From that moment on, Gregg began to trade in recklessness for roots, building a life anchored in love, family, and hard work.
Gregg and Shirley were married just shy of 52 years, a bond that stood as a testament to commitment and enduring love. Together they raised two children-and helped guide two nephews-on the family farm, where Gregg spent his days immersed in a life he truly loved. Whether it was tinkering in his garage with lawnmowers and cars or splitting firewood and working in the yard, Gregg found joy in fixing things, staying busy, and doing whatever needed to be done. Gregg was also a NASCAR fan and an avid gun enthusiast.
Family was everything to Gregg. His grandchildren, Seth and Delana, brought out a new side of him-a softer, gentler version that those closest to him came to know and love. Nicknamed "Mr. Safety" by his grandkids, Gregg took his role as protector seriously, always offering a steady stream of advice, precautions, and heartfelt concern. He took immense pride in their lives, celebrating their every accomplishment-from sports and hunting to 4H and school-and remained deeply involved until his final days. Gregg also shared a close bond with his great-nieces, enjoying conversations that ranged from lighthearted to thoughtful. His door, and his heart, were always open. He would do anything for his family, and he showed that not just in words but in action-fighting a relentless battle with leukemia to remain with those he loved for as long as he could.
Gregg leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering devotion. His strength, humor, and wisdom shaped the lives of those around him. Saying we'll miss him doesn't begin to capture the hole left in our hearts.
We are better for having known him. And we will carry him with us-forever.
