Gregg Alan Olson

Gregg Alan Olson, 63, of Austin, Texas passed away peacefully Monday, December 12, 2022, at his home.
Gregg was born June 24, 1959, in Burlington, Iowa to Marston Dean (Ole) and Rosemary Schmidt (Olson). Gregg attended Burlington, Iowa Community Schools and graduated in 1977. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1981 with a BA in Political Science and received his Master's Degree in Public Administration at Texas A&M University in 1983. He worked in human resources for the city of Austin, Texas for 35 years, retiring from the City of Austin Police Department as HR supervisor after 21 years of service. Gregg enjoyed attending theatre events with his Broadway Buddies and listening to Broadway tunes. He took great pride in his home and worked many hours in his yard and gardens. He always wanted to make life pretty for everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Scott Olson of Burlington, Iowa, Todd (Patty) Olson, of Burlington, Iowa, and Paula (Erik) Johnson of Warrenton, Virginia. He survived by one niece, three nephews and their children and Bryan Hoyt, a friend, and caregiver.
There will be no service at this time. A Celebration of Life and burial is planned at a later date in Burlington, IA.
