Gregg Andrew Purdy

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gregg Andrew Purdy, who left this world on June 28, 2025, at the age of 38. Born on May 19, 1987, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Gregg was a beloved son, brother, friend, and father, whose gentle spirit touched the lives of those who knew him.

Gregg was the cherished son of Cecile-Marie and David Purdy, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his dear uncle Michael Bartowitz.

A graduate of Wauwatosa West High School in 2005, Gregg went on to earn his degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009. He embarked on a career as a Finance and Retirement Planner at Wells Fargo.

Gregg was known for his curiosity about the world. He was an athlete in his younger days, a devoted fisherman, and a "day job" comic who could always bring a smile to those around him. His love for Wisconsin sports was rivaled only by his love for his family and friends. Everyone who knew Gregg can attest to his childlike inquisitiveness and the depth of his caring nature-he loved others more than he loved himself.

Gregg is survived by his best friend Angela Weideman, his son Davis Weideman, his sister Melisa Purdy-Unger and brother-in-law Paul Unger, his brother John Purdy and sister-in-law Sarah Purdy, as well as his nephews Henry, Harrison, and Declan, and his niece Zosia, and his stepmom Kathy Epping. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will miss him dearly.

In this time of sorrow, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the family members and friends for their calls, texts, love, and support. Special thanks are given to the uncles, aunts and cousins who honor the memory of Cecile-Marie and David Purdy by taking care of their kids. Your kindness and support have been a tremendous comfort during this difficult time.

As we remember Gregg, let us carry forward the love, compassion, and joy he shared with the world. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. We will cherish the memories, his smile, and the lessons he imparted, and strive to live our lives with the same kindness that he exemplified. Rest in peace, dear Gregg – you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held for Gregg on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 10:30am until the time of Mass at 12:00 Noon, all at St. Dominic Catholic Parish Church, 18255 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin 53045. Private Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
