He was born in Havana, Cuba on November 28, 1936. His childhood in Havana instilled in him a lifelong passion for world history, travel, science, religion and politics, and he loved to speak about them with anyone who would listen. He immigrated to Lowell, Massachusetts in 1968 and worked as a mechanical engineer until his retirement.
Gregorio and Natalia first met and bonded over their shared cultural, spiritual and family values, which they continued to share throughout their long and happy marriage, lasting over 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his father Gregorio Montejo, his mother Eustasia Leonor Triana Montejo, and his sister Leonor Maria Montejo.
He was buried in an intimate ceremony on August 15, 2025 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Tewksbury, MA, where he now rests.
