Gregory Brant Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 21, 2025.
Gregory "Greg" Scott Brant, age 61, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Greg was born in Latrobe, PA, son of the late Diana (Zimmers) and Robert Brant. Greg graduated from A.I. DuPont High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business & Marketing from the University of Delaware ('87). Greg went on to start his own cabinetry & millwork company, 3-D Fabrications Inc. Greg was very committed to his work and loved his business and employees like his own family. Greg was a very humble and generous man; he was always willing to help anyone in need. In his free time, Greg enjoyed waterskiing in his younger years, and had more recently enjoyed being a member of the Brandywine Polo Club. Greg was man of faith who was actively attending Grace Lutheran Church in Delaware.
Greg was passionate about carpentry and craftsmanship. Locally, his company has done some beautiful work, including the woodwork in the chapel of the Christiana Hospital, many buildings on the campus of the University of Delaware, and a recent job that he found intriguing was Del Pez Restaurant at the Grove in Newark. For so many people, he made their custom woodworking dreams come true.
Greg was a passionate dog lover, being particularly fond of Labrador Retrievers. He always found time before work every morning to go throw the frisbee with Beans, on a field next to Kirkwood Highway, and was kind of well-known by locals for this morning show. Nowadays, however, he has found a great fondness of his clownish French Bulldog, Rocky. However, his most favorite dog of all was Biff, his college buddy.
Although Greg was a very busy man, he carved out time for his family and made a point of the time he could spend with them would be of quality, love, and laughter. To his wife Cecille of 36 years, he was a loving and doting husband. To his sons he was generous and consistent role model.
Greg is survived by his wife, Cecille Brant; sons, Trevor and Thomas Brant; parents, Robert & Cathy Brant; sisters, Gretchin LaBatch and Heather Sears, and his large extended family.
Greg's life will be celebrated with a private service at later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Greg's name to the Mike Rowe WORKS foundation (mikeroweworks.org)
