Gregory "Greg" Neil Geiger, 64, of Marion, passed away at 10:34 am on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in his home. He was born in Peru, Indiana, on Tuesday, April 26, 1960, to John C. Geiger and Nancy (Smith) Axelrod.
Greg attended Wabash High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Following his military service, he opened Geiger's Auto Repair and eventually retired from Ed Law Trucking. His love in life was being a mechanic. If he wasn't working on an engine at work, he was working on one at his house, more than likely in the living room. You could call Greg at any time with a car problem and, just by explaining it to him over the phone, he could diagnose the issue with 99% accuracy.
Survivors include his daughter, Misty (Cillian) Barrett of TX; step-son, Kristopher "KG" Whitaker of Fairmount; sisters, Joan (Michael) Barrett of DeRidder, LA, and Lori Wooten of Gas City; niece, Mindy Wooten of Marion; nephews, Arthur (Laura) Geiger of IN and Dee Pack of Marion; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Geiger; mother, Nancy E. Axelrod; brother, David Geiger; sister, Debbie Pack; nephew, David Richard; nieces, Chasta Kay Giles, Patience BriAnn Barrett, and Harlie Michelle Barrett; and step-father, Larry Wooten.
Greg will be interred at Marion National Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
