Gregory Wayne Haun

Gregory Wayne Haun, 67, of Wendell, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025. Born on April 23, 1958, in Knoxville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Bob and Barbara Haun. At the heart of Greg's life was a deep and unwavering love for his beloved wife, Sandy. Their marriage was a testament to lifelong devotion- marked by shared joys, quiet strength, and a profound companionship that shaped every chapter of their story together. Their bond was the foundation of a home filled with laughter, gardens in bloom, and journeys both near and far. When Sandy passed in May of 2024, a part of Greg's own spirit went with her.
Greg served in the United States Army shortly after high school, where he developed the discipline and technical skills of land surveying. He would practice Surveying with care and pride until retiring to care for Sandy. Known for his strong work ethic and quiet reliability, Greg built a professional life that mirrored his personal values and was beloved by all who crossed his professional path.
As a devout Christian, Greg's faith guided him with grace and grounded him in purpose. He was a loving and caring man, known for his quick humor and a spirit that could never be dampened. He is survived by his five children: Jason Haun, Heather Lacey, Frank Lacey (Jeni Lacey), Josh Haun (Britney Haun), and Jonathan Haun - each of whom carries forward his kindness, resilience, and enduring love. Greg also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Blake, Logan,Austin, McKenzi, Grayson, Alexander, Zoe, and Odin, who were the light of his later years and a source of great pride and joy.
A private service will be held to honor his life, and his family welcomes prayers and cherished memories from all who knew him.
