Gregory was a member for a period of time of Saint James AME Church of Newark, New Jersey. Gregory served in the New Jersey Coast Guard for two years.
Gregory's father Fleming D. Lewis Sr., grandparents, Aunts Lois M. Hardison, Cora M. Adside and Mary Spearman, and Uncles Roger Lewis and James Ray Howard, all preceded him in death.
Gregory leaves to cherish his memories his son Gregory S. Lewis Jr. (Mother – Melissa Ruff) of Houston TX, his mom Mable L. Lewis of Elizabeth, NJ, one brother Fleming D. Lewis Jr. of California, Aunts Rosa M. Kelly of Orange, NJ, Catherine Howard and Shirley M. Howard of Bethel, NC, and Mary Morgan-Sanders of Rahway, NJ., Uncles Emory Barfield of Gordon, GA and Rafael Vaquel of Orange NJ, a dear friend Elia Pagan of Bronx, NY, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Gregory was a sharp dresser. Always nice and neat from head to toe. "What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us." May his soul rest well.
