Gregory M. Malott Age 53, of Milford, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1:08 a.m., surrounded by his loving family and friends. A devoted husband to Kristina Malott and a proud father to Owen Malott, Greg's life was a testament to loyalty, determination, and service.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Greg was the beloved son of Richard (Shirley) Malott and Jean (Kevin) Moore. He was a cherished brother to Jennifer (Paul) Rahman and Kevin (Merea) Malott, and loving uncle to his five nieces. He leaves behind many cousins and friends.
For nearly half of his life, Greg devoted himself to protecting and serving the nation, completing 24 years of distinguished military service-18 years in the U.S. Air Force and six years in the Marine Corps. In 1995, Greg's Marine Corps unit was called upon to recover downed Air Force pilot Captain Scott O'Grady, who was successfully rescued from Bosnia. The following year, Greg volunteered to participate in the evacuation team that rescued 79 Americans from the Embassy in Liberia. He honorably discharged in 2017, from the Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant. His steadfast commitment reflected his courage and integrity, values he carried through every aspect of his life. Upon his military retirement, he continued his lifelong ambition to work in aviation as a structural engineer with Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services in Wilmington, OH.
Outside of his professional and military endeavors, Greg found great joy in classic cars including his 1964 Ford Galaxie. He was passionate about restoring and admiring classic vehicles, traveling to shows across the region, and sharing that love with his son Owen. These cherished moments will live on as treasured memories.
Greg fought bravely against cancer, demonstrating immense strength and resilience throughout his battle. His unwavering spirit remained an inspiration to all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Greg's life on Friday, May 2, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m., with a military honors service to follow at 6:30 p.m. at Deer Park/Staley – Strawser Funeral Home, 7140 Plainfield Rd., Deer Park, OH 45236.
