Greg L. Masingo, born on January 10, 1961, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, departed from this world unexpectedly on September 23, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana. A man of integrity and unwavering truth, Greg was not just a master electrician who owned Masingo Electrical Contracting; he was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him.
A true baseball enthusiast, Greg's heart resonated with the spirit of the Cincinnati Reds. His passion for the sport sparkled in every conversation, igniting joy and camaraderie among fellow fans. Yet, beyond the confines of the ballpark, it was his profound love for his children and grandchildren that defined him. Greg devoted countless hours to nurturing their dreams, often found volunteering at the Charlestown Little League, or cheering them on at other sporting events. His enthusiasm was seen and heard amongst all in attendance, as he watched each game/match unfold before him.
Greg's family, who carry his legacy, remember him as a pillar of strength and sincerity. He is survived by his son, Dustin Masingo, and his cherished daughter, Toni, alongside her husband Nick Shaw. His son Marc, and his wife Ariel, will forever hold dear their father's lessons, etched in the very fabric of their hearts. Siblings David 'Sinker' Masingo and his wife Trudi, Beverly 'Sissy' Masingo, and brother JD Masingo, with his wife JoAnn, reflect on fond memories shared with a man whose laughter and honesty were infectious.
Greg's grandchildren— Jack Shaw, Ella Shaw, Emma Shaw, John-Wyatt Masingo, Retty Masingo, Russell Masingo, Renea Twigg, Sarah Masingo, Gracie Masingo, Tate Masingo, Tinsley Masingo, and Peyton Masingo—will carry forward the unwavering spirit and love he bestowed upon them. Each of them was graced not only with his presence but with the values he instilled, which will resonate through generations.
Regrettably, Greg's journey was shaped by the absence of his beloved parents, JD and Earline Masingo, who have preceded him. Yet, in his departure, Greg leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories and boundless love, a testament to a life beautifully lived and deeply felt.
In celebrating Greg L. Masingo, we acknowledge a man whose truthfulness, passion for baseball, and love for his family created an indelible mark on the hearts of all he encountered. His vibrant legacy will endure, forever woven into the stories and lives of those who were truly fortunate to call him family and friend.
Burial will be held privately at a later date.
