Gregory "Greg" A. Mayer, 77, of Rock Island, entered life eternal on Friday, April 24, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Services are pending at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.

Rev. Mayer was one of my volunteers at Friendship Manor. His daughter Kristine was my assistant. When the two of them got together to create an event such as the many tea parties for the residents no one could stand up to the creativity they had. Not even me. He and Kristine would put hours into those events and the the room would be packed full. The food he prepared was outstanding.
I was lucky to also participate in a trip to Ireland that he had put together. It was and still is one of the greatest experiences of my life.
I had the pleasure of enjoying some of the parties at his and Judy's home all so. Again the food was great and the companionship warm and welcoming. He always had a big smile and looked at life as an adventure. He will be missed by many but mostly by his baby girl.
Rest in peace Greg and enjoy your reunion with Judy.
