Gregory Lyman Schiess, 73, of Moultrie, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 20, 2025, at his home.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Autreyville Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Robert McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time.
He was born on April 14, 1952, in Manchester, Iowa, to the late Dyane L Schiess and Margie Mae Lyman Schiess. Mr. Schiess worked for FHWA as an engineer for 30 years and also worked for the FDOT for 12 years and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Schiess.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Gregory Schiess of Moultrie; sons, Jason Schiess and wife Amie of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, and Jared Schiess of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; daughter, Jennifer Holmes and husband Bryce of Jacksonville, FL; step sons, Ben Jenkins and wife Tiffany of Altamonte Springs, FL, and Joshua Jenkins of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren, Marshall -Graeson Schiess, Brody Holmes, Declan Holmes, and Jack Jenkins; sister, Susie Diercksen; favorite sister in law, Sharon Turner and husband Donnie of Thomas County; and several nieces and nephews.
