Dr. Gregory Stroncek

Dodgeville - Dr. Gregory Stroncek, a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025 surrounded by the family that cared deeply and loved him.

His life was marked by compassion, dedication to his patients, and a deep commitment to service both home and abroad.

Born on October 9, 1952, Greg pursued his passion for science and healthcare early in life. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Minnesota in 1974, then continued at the Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1976. He completed a General Dentistry Residency at Denver General Hospital from 1976 to 1977, followed by an Oral Surgery Residency at the University of Iowa from 1977 to 1980.

In 1980 Dr. Stroncek became licensed to practice dentistry in Wisconsin and joined the Madison Oral Surgery practice, where he dedicated nearly four decades to serving the community. He retired in 2019 leaving behind a legacy of clinical excellence, gentle care and mentorship to many in the field.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, He was committed to humanitarian work. His medical mission service at Hospital San Carlos, Mexico, touched countless lives. While visiting the hospital he recognized a profound need for surgical care for children suffering from cleft lip and palate conditions. Driven by compassion he collaborated with his Rotary Club in Madison to help execute the medical plan. Through his efforts more that 500 children received life-changing care. Joyfully, he was able to work with his wife, daughter and bring his sons to partake in this fulfilling experience.

After Retiring, Dr. Stroncek embraced a passion in farming. He and his wife built a thriving grass-fed beef operation starting in 2007. This as well as all his projects he took great pride in as he developed meaningful relationships with the local community and friends who helped make it possible. This chapter of his life brought him deep joy, purpose, and a lasting connection to the land and family.

Fishing was the most peaceful and relaxing parts of his life-a love instilled in him by his mother and father. As a family, they spent treasured vacations on fishing trips to lakes in Minnesota and Lake of the Woods, Canada, creating memories he carried with him always. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, as well as by his loving aunts and uncles.

Greg found mercy in the Lord to help him fight the good fight, keeping faith and good conscience.

He is survived by his wife, five children, two brothers and the extended family of them.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Pastor Jim Parish will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of services on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the funeral home.
