Richard Eugene Stroncek

Stroncek, Richard Eugene "Dick" age 93 left us peacefully on July 13, 2022. Preceded in death by wife, Sophie A. Stroncek "Buttons"; parents, Frank and Mary; brothers, George and Frank. Dick was the last of his immediate family. Survived by his loving children, son, Richard Stroncek; daughter, Cindy Stroncek (husband, Ivan); and son, Robert Stroncek (wife, Cathy); grandchildren, Anna (fiance Matt) and James. He graduated from the U of MN School of Pharmacy on June 12, 1954. Dick and his brother Frank opened Key Rexall Drug in Apache Plaza in October 1961. After a tornado in 1984 resulted in the closing Key Rexall Drug, Dick opened Stroncek Eagle Drug and Hallmark in April 1984 with his wife Sophie and son Bob. Dick loved fishing for walleye especially on Lake of the Woods in Canada. Dick supposedly caught the largest fish in his life last year 2021 while fishing with his nephew, Steve Stroncek. The "fish was too big for the net" and couldn't be landed. Dick had a wonderful sense of humor and was the rock and foundation of his family and will be dearly missed. Our only concilation is that we believe he is now celebrating with so many dear family members who preceded him in death. We are so grateful for the wonderful staff from both Waverly Gardens Community and Our Lady of Peace Hospice Care.
