Gregory L. Vickers, 65, of Rochester, MN, formerly of Idaho, passed away on February 13, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary's campus in Rochester.
Greg was born on January 14, 1959, in Nyssa, Oregon, to parents Walter and Marna Lee (Mower) Vickers. After graduating from high school in Parma, ID, he went on to attend Ricks College in Rexburg, ID. Greg held a variety of careers over his life, such as working at RR, becoming a volunteer firefighter, being a bouncer at Déjà vu, working for Hewlett Packard, and most recently working as the Production Lead at Benchmark Electronics. On September 6, 2008, Greg married the love of his life, Leah (King) Vickers, at Central Park in Rochester.
Aside from spending time with his family, some of Greg's hobbies included kayaking, target shooting, watching college football and wrestling, and travelling. Greg also loved music.
Greg is survived by his wife, Leah; their children, Aleksei (Jessica) Vickers of Nampa, ID., Leina Vickers of Nampa, ID., Kylie Wilson (fiancé, Joshua) of Moscow, ID., Nicholas Woolums of Rochester, MN., Dylan (Sarah) Woolums, of Stewartville, MN., Tyler Woolums of Rochester, MN.,; three grandchildren, Elijah, Deacon, Mason, and one on the way, Auggie; Siblings, Steve (Elaine) Vickers of Nampa, ID., Teresa (Mark) Dougal of Caldwell, ID., Marc (Deede) Vickers of Stockton, UT., Darren (Emily) Vickers of Nampa, ID., Stuart (Sherri) Vickers of Nampa, ID., Quinn (Karen) Vickers of San Antonio, TX., Meredith (Aaron) Hundersmark of Nampa, ID., Cecilie (Stan) Santini of Gulf Breeze, Fl., Nicole Vickers of Parma, ID., and Jessica Golder, of Rexburg, ID.; 52 nieces and nephews; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. Greg is preceded in death by his mother, Marna Lee; a niece, Kylene Vickers; and a nephew, Kolton Hundersmark.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl. NW, Rochester, MN 55901). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 10:00 am on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
