Gregory E. Wheeler Sr., age 74, retired Cleveland Police Detective, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. His parents, Elijah and Evelyn Wheeler, along with his brother, Aaron Wheeler, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Jacquetta Diane Wheeler; sons, Gregory E. Wheeler Jr. (La Donna) and Jermaine Brown (Twila); daughters, Dr. Latia Phillips-Bey (Kumar), Sharisa Lee, Eboni Wheeler, Tamika Richards (James), Yasmin Blankenship, and India Blankenship; brothers, Rev. Charles Wheeler (Ramona), Elijah L. Wheeler (Allana), Reginald Wheeler (Kim), Kenneth, Rod, Thomas (Sabryna) and sister-in-law, Barbara Wheeler. Greg is also lovingly remembered by his 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Greg has entered eternal rest and now abides in the arms of the Lord. His love, strength, and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held at New Community Bible Fellowship, 3557 Washington Blvd., Cleveland Hts., OH 44118 on Thursday, September 4 at 10:30 AM AND WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE. FRIENDS MAY ALSO CALL ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 FROM 9AM-5PM AT BROWN-FORWARD FUNERAL HOME, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH 44120. Interment, Evergreen Cemetery.
