Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. James David Wheeler, Sr, 72, of Monroe, LA, will be 12:00 PM Saturday, July 15, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe with Rev. Justin Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Rayville.

Mr. Wheeler was born February 4, 1951 and passed away on July 12, 2023. He was a member of Swartz First Baptist Church. Mr. Wheeler retired from Lively and Associates after 30+ years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jeannie Armstrong Wheeler and son, James David Wheeler, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Anice Hayes Wheeler; son, Justin Wheeler and wife Leigh; daughter-in-law, Kera Womack Wheeler; seven grandchildren, Caitlyn Greene and husband Austin, Caden Wheeler and wife Alyssa, Cayle Wheeler, Caroline Wheeler, Luke Wheeler, Samuel Wheeler, and Caige Wheeler; three great-grandchildren, Emberleigh Greene, Cambree Greene, and Natalee Wheeler; siblings, Robert Wheeler and wife Sandy, Emily McGough and husband Dwight, and Pat Glass; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many special friends, and fur-baby “Piper”.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bo Lively and Ben Ratcliff.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kerry Anders and Dr. Larry Olinde.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
