Gregory L. “Greg” Wilson, 63, of Laurel, MS. and formerly of Raymond and Nashville, TN., passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, following a brief illness.
A 1979 graduate of Marysville High School, he first worked at Mosier’s Market in Raymond, then as a paint shop coordinator at Honda for 20 years and most recently as a union millwright for NKC Local #1557. He attended the Millcreek Church of Christ and enjoyed golfing, woodworking, carpentry, drawing and architecture. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson and his Cadillac cars. Greg was a skilled paintball player and was a member of a nationally ranked team at one time. He also bowled in his younger years.
Born January 2, 1961 in Columbus, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Ella (Cotton) Wilson.
Greg is survived by a son, Tobi (Stacy) Wilson of Richwood; a daughter, Ellie (Jef) Wolber of Ada; grandchildren, Hunter, Austyn, Hudsyn and Anistyn Wilson and Wyatt and Myles Wolber; his sisters, Diana (Dale) Ormeroid of Laurel, MS., Sharon Wilson of Richwood and Kristi (Scott) Cardone of Raymond; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Services to celebrate Greg’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, August 26, 2024 at the Millcreek Church of Christ in Raymond. Jack Knox will officiate and burial will follow next to his parents at the Millcreek Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family, in care of the funeral home. Envelopes will be available at the church.
