Gregory Womble Obituary
Gregory "Greg" Scott Womble, 60, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. Greg was born in Edgecombe County, North Carolina on February 22, 1962 and is the son of Madeline Whitley Stanley and the late Bobby Jackson Womble.
Greg was employed by Aqua America. He loved to work and go to the Casino in Cherokee, North Carolina and loved to cook Bar-B-Que on his grill and go to the beach.
He loved his family and friends and will truly be missed by so many.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Ida Mattson Womble; mother, Madeline Whitley Stanley; step-son and his wife, Mark Fontaine (Laura); two brothers, Aaron Womble, Bobby Eugene Womble; half-brother, James Edward Stanley; half-sister and her husband, Charlene Davis (Robert); several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a Celebration of Life Service at a later date and please check the website for the date and time.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Jackson Womble; step-son, Brian Fontaine.
