Gretchen Lane Eisnor-Dolan, passed away on September 20, 2025, in Mosley, VA, at the age of 78. Born on December 25, 1946, in Somerville, MA, to Audrey (McLaughlin) and Richard Preston Eisnor. Gretchen was a beautiful soul and a beacon of light to those who knew her.

A graduate of Somerville High School, Gretchen made a career at Polaroid, where she was known for her excellent work ethic, dedication and intelligence. Gretchen's faith was an integral part of her life. It guided her actions and provided comfort and strength throughout her journey. Her belief in kindness and generosity was evident in the way she lived her life and how she treated others.

Family was the cornerstone of Gretchen's world. She was the beloved wife of the late Steve Dolan. She was a devoted mother to her daughter Christine Cabral of Chesterfield, VA, and a mother-in-law to her supportive son-in-law, Jeff. Gretchen's role as a grandmother was one she held most dear, showering her grandchildren, Mason and Lexie Cabral with affection. Nothing made her happier than to see them happy. Watching them grow was the joy of her life.

Gretchen was an expert "bargain hunter," always on the lookout for wonderful treasures that she would share with her family and friends. Her generosity was boundless. Those who had the privilege of knowing Gretchen will remember her for her unwavering kindness, her generous spirit, and her deep love for her family. Her presence was a comfort, and her laughter was contagious. She will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home on Sunday, September 28th, from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services and interment will be private.
