Gretchen Anne Linville, age 86, of Britton, Michigan passed away peacefully at Trinity Hospital on October 29th, 2025. She was born on February 7th, 1939, in Monroe, Michigan.
Gretchen spent many years with Stony Creek Preschool sharing her love for learning and crafts with children. In her retirement, she enjoyed knitting, "circle grams", and a good book while enjoying her favorite Turtles candy. She loved to share the things she enjoyed with her family, always offering someone a book, a knitted scarf, or the first Turtle from the box. Gretchen enjoyed the little things in life, especially a phone call from her loved ones. Gretchen will be remembered for her generous nature and deep love for her family.
Gretchen is preceded in death by her mother and father, Frank and Junietta (Gesell) Heck, her sister, June Knabusch-Taylor, and her husband, Robert Linville Jr. Gretchen and Robert married in 1969 and spent over 50 years together before his passing in 2021. Gretchen is survived by her sons, James (Sandy) Lajiness and Robert (Margie) Linville, daughter Toni (Scott) Ellicott, and grandchildren Amanda Lajiness, Kyle Ellicott, Eric Ellicott, Erin Ellicott, and Bobby Linville Jr. She is also survived by multiple great-grandchildren.
Per her request, cremation has taken place.
