April Dawn Linville, 43, of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at her home. She was born December 16, 1981 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to the late Jerry and Jane (Wright) Linville. After high school she became a Licensed Practical Nurse working at several nursing homes in the Mt. Vernon area and enjoyed talking about how much she loved her children. She liked sewing and anything with butterflies, which she referred to as "Futter-blies". She was a dedicated nurse and mother until her longtime battle with addiction. She lived with a plethora of internal struggles and is now at peace and resting eternally.
April is survived by her daughters, Alexis Johnson of Bluford, Illinois and EmmaJae Lewis of Bluford, Illinois; sister, Jayanna Macklin (Andy) of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; brother, Scott Linville and his significant other, Jo and their three children, Carter, Makaya, and Gracelyn all of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a multitude of other family and friends that kept hope that one day she would get well.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services will be held with burial at a later date at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke, Illinois.
Memorial contributions for her daughter's college fund can be made to Colvin Funeral Home located at 425 N. Main St., Princeton, IN 47670.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to anyone who said a prayer for April, who fed her a meal, helped her with gas money, gave her words of encouragement, and showed her love.
