Lindsey Powell Carney, age 71, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Hospice of Lenawee Home in Adrian, MI. He was born on November 11, 1953 in Stanford, KY a son of the late Arthur and Rozella (Morgan) Carney. On July 28, 1990 he married Jennifer Parish and they shared over 28 years together before her passing in 2018. Lindsey worked for 30 years for General Motors as a machine operator before his retirement in 2006.
Lindsey was very active over the years and coached kid's baseball and softball, enjoyed yard work and taking care of his vegetable garden. He spent a lot of time ice fishing, open water fishing and travelled to Canada for fishing as well. He loved the water especially boating and water skiing. Lindsey also liked shooting targets and varmints. His passion was riding motorcycles, attending car shows and performance engines whether it was auto, motorcycle or marine.
Lindsey is survived by his children, Ashley L. and Thomas L. Carney; a sister, Valerie (Bill) Bartenslager and a granddaughter, Evelynne Cattell.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life for Lindsey will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2pm at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with Pastor Rich Burstall officiating. A memorial visitation will take place that day from 12pm until the time of the celebration at 2pm. A private graveside service will take place at Brookside cemetery.
